Celebrating 35 years of specialty events. It’s a big year for the GPOESC as we celebrate 35 years of specialty events in 2010. The club was established in 1972 and held its first specialty in 1975. This year’s theme touches on that 70's nostalgia. We will hold two shows back-to-back on Friday, July 23. We are awaiting AKC approval on the judges we’ve selected. Be watching for more news from the specialty committee as plans are developed. And, of course, it would be far out to have some of our groovy members volunteer to help! For additional information, please contact Sylvia or Priscilla (contact).

Also, please join us for a post-event, no-host dinner and OES collectibles auction at 5:30 p.m. at the Stanfords restaurant near the Expo center. See more info and map >>

AKC Educational Match and OES Breed Booth

ed matchHeld on a beautiful spring day, Saturday, June 19, the AKC Educational Match proved once again to be a successful event. The annual event is held to promote the public's knowledge of various AKC recognized dog breeds and allows the opportunity for learning the skills to handle your dog in a show ring. Numerous breed booths greeted guests and attendees with information about their breeds and an opportunity the meet and greet with owners, breeders and the dogs themselves. The GPOESC booth was manned by Jeff & Priscilla Menzel, Joanna Smith and Jerry and Belinda Holcombe. Along with operating the breed booth each participating breed club provided 2 or more hours of volunteer time to the general needs of the event. There were several club members that visited and walked the event in a causual walkabout, and many others visited the booth to pet the OES and learn more about our breed. GPOESC's Yard Sale Fund Raiser

A special thank you to all of the club members and friends for donating items to the sale! Also, thank you to those members that assisted with the sale itself. The sale, held Saturday, June 26, raised enough money to accomplish a couple goals - provide money to fund the items needed for the specialty auction and piccadilly, plus have money left over for the clubs general use and rescue.
